Our Complete Home Renovation Process, Step by Step

Step 1 - Discovery Call

EYour journey begins with a complimentary 20-minute discovery call, where we’ll learn about your project goals and determine if we’re an aligned fit. This step helps us understand your vision, timelines, and any initial questions you may have.

Step 2 - In-Home Consultation, Studio Visit & Design Agreement

Complete Home Renovation - Before/After

Next, we’ll schedule a complimentary in-home consultation to explore your design aspirations further. This on-site visit allows us to assess your space and discuss opportunities and initial ideas. Following this, we invite you to our Carmel Studio for a presentation, where we’ll share preliminary findings, style solutions, and a high-level opinion of costs. If everything feels aligned, we’ll formalize our partnership with a Design Agreement and retainer. By the end of this phase, you’re officially part of the EHD family, and our journey together begins.

Step 3 - Detailed Planning, Comprehensive Estimate & Contract

With our design retainer in place, we'll dive into the details to develop scaled construction drawings, formalize design concepts, and create detailed 3D renderings. This phase also includes sourcing all materials, defining the complete scope of work, and creating a comprehensive estimate, whether it's for your renovation or furnishing project. Once everything is agreed upon, we'll move forward with the next step—either by ordering furnishings or beginning the renovation.

Step 4 - Expert Execution & Grand Reveal

With every detail accounted for, our team now begins the hands-on work of sourcing, ordering, scheduling, and managing the entire project timeline from start to finish, all orchestrated completely in-house. For renovation projects, we’ll support you as your general contractor and coordinate all aspects of the construction phase through our dedicated project manager and team, ensuring precision at every step.  At the final reveal, we’ll welcome you into a space that’s been thoughtfully designed and fully realized, the perfect culmination of our collaborative journey.

A Lasting Impression

This renovation was full of updates including modernized cabinetry, flooring, fixtures, paint, appliances and the list goes on! Paint was no doubt a high-impact design update in this renovation. Dated dark-stained molding and doors were re-painted with a fresh coat of crisp white. Down came old fashioned floral wallpaper and up went a neutral paint palette of white, cream, beige, grey, dusty blue, and lilac. Luxury vinyl plank wood-tone floors now grace the space where worn-out carpets once lay. We swapped dated gold brass fixtures and hardware for sleek nickel-plated selections. The buff brick fireplace surround also received a timeless facelift, now showcasing neutral brick tones. To further emphasize the modern style, we replaced heavy drapes and curtains with simple white Roman shades. A new home doesn’t have to literally mean a new home—Everything Home can breath new life into an old space with our award-winning interior design services. Ready for a new look in the new year?
